CARBAMATE

Carbamate is an organosulfur based biocide. It varies in its spectrum of activity, toxicity and persistence with widespread use in parallel applications. It is a relatively unstable compound that breaks down in the environment within weeks or months.

Sodium dimethyldithiocarbamate (SDMDTC) is a general-purpose anionic biocide, commonly used as a fungicide, and slimicide in water treatment. It is a broad-spectrum biocide used for absolute removal of microorganisms in process applications such as pulp, paper, leather and water treatment.

It is highly effective against fermentation-producing organisms as well as counters the removal of microorganisms by interrupting cell metabolism.
